Information collected automatically

When you use the app we record technical details with your account: IP address, platform, OS version, device model, device name, device identifier, app version, locale and time zone.

Your IP address is always taken from the network connection itself. It is never read from anything the app sends, so it cannot be spoofed.

Information you create in the app

  • Property listings — title, description, street address, city, state, postal code, country, coordinates, price, area and property type.
  • Photos and videos you attach to a listing.
  • Your profile photo.
  • Messages you exchange with other users about a listing, including any attachments.
  • Saved properties and portfolios you assemble.

Location while using the app

With your permission, iGeo uses your device’s precise location to show nearby property listings and to provide A→B navigation. Android asks for this permission separately and you can refuse or revoke it at any time in system settings; the rest of the app continues to work.

What we do with photos

We strip the metadata out of every photo you upload before storing it.

Phone cameras embed hidden information in photos, including the exact GPS coordinates where the picture was taken. For a property app that would mean publishing the location of someone’s home. To prevent this, every uploaded image is decoded and re-encoded on our servers, which discards all embedded metadata — GPS coordinates, camera make and model, and timestamps.

We also verify that an uploaded file is genuinely an image by inspecting its contents rather than trusting its name or type, and we reject anything else.

Stored photos and videos are served from a public content address. The address contains random identifiers and is not listed or searchable, but anyone who has the link can view the file. Do not upload anything you would not be willing to show to someone who obtained that link.

How we use your information

We use it only to:

  • create and secure your account, and sign you in;
  • show you property listings near you, and on the map;
  • let you list a property and let interested users contact you about it;
  • deliver messages between you and other users;
  • keep the service working, diagnose faults, and prevent abuse of it.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your data. We share it only with the infrastructure providers that run the service on our behalf, under contract, and only to the extent needed to operate it:

ProviderRoleWhat it handles
Google Cloud (Cloud Run)Application hostingAll requests to the service
SupabaseDatabase and file storageYour account record, listings, messages, photos and videos

We do not currently send SMS or email from the app. If we enable that in future, we will name the provider here before doing so.

Other users see only what you choose to publish: your name, profile photo, and the content of the listings and messages you send them. Your email address, phone number, date of birth and exact registration coordinates are not shown to other users.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Where your data is stored

Our servers run in asia-south1 (Mumbai, India) and our database and file storage are hosted by Supabase in ap-south-1 (Mumbai, India). If you use the app from outside these regions, your information is transferred to and processed there.

How we protect it

  • All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with TLS (HTTPS).
  • Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes, never in a readable form.
  • Every request is authenticated, and each request is checked to confirm you may access that specific record — you can only read and change your own data.
  • Private conversations are readable only by their participants.
  • Uploaded images are sanitised as described above.

No system is perfectly secure, but we take these measures seriously and review them as the service changes.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and its content while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, listings, messages and uploaded files are removed from the live service.

We may retain limited records for longer where the law requires it, or to resolve disputes and prevent abuse.

Your choices and rights

We respond to requests within 30 days.

Children

iGeo is not intended for children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, which is why we ask for your date of birth. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to contact@makersinfotechservices.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, notify you in the app. Continuing to use iGeo after a change means you accept the updated policy.
